Application forms for exiled Teries returning to the town for the Common-Riding are available by email from Frankie and Janette Scott or by post from Hawick Common-Riding Committee, 11 O’Connell Street, Hawick. TD9 9HT.
The closing date for applications is 10 May 2016.
A Reception will be given in the Town Hall on Wednesday 8th June at 7.45 p.m. by the Hon. Provost’s Council and the Common-Riding Committee for returned Teries in Hawick for the Common-Riding. Invitations to the Reception will be issued on the following conditions, namely:
1. the Reception is for Teries or direct descendants who have left Hawick and are visiting the town at the time of the Common-Riding including the partner of the returned Teri or descendant of such,
2. to be eligible for invitation to the Reception, returned Teries or descendants must have their permanent residence outwith the regions of Tayside, Central, Strathclyde, Fife, Lothian, Dumfries & Galloway, Borders, Northumberland, Cumbria, Tyne & Wear, Durham, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cleveland, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Humberside,
3. no relative or friend may accompany visitors from the U.K. and Eire to the Reception, however, overseas visitors may (numbers permitting) be accompanied by one relative or friend from the household in which they are residing

Tickets are non-transferable and must be uplifted from 11 O’Connell Street. The Office is open on the following Saturdays 7th May and 4th June from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., Friday 27th and Thursday 26th May, Friday 3rd June, Tuesday 7th June 2.00pm to 4:00pm and Wednesday 8th June 2.00pm to 3:30pm
Any unclaimed tickets will be allocated elsewhere.
